Incarnate
Equip artists and arts leaders to thrive on mission through an in-depth, hands-on training programme.
Incarnate is a four-month journey of discipleship, theology and cross-cultural ministry for artists, preparing them to live as artists on mission, whether in their own community or elsewhere. Wenjin is a graduate of Incarnate and continues to impact those in her community with her art.
"Having grown up in a fatherless, emotionally disconnected, and dysfunctional family, I was standing inches from and staring long hours at loneliness, intense fear and pain. I had spiritual near-sightedness and objects in the distance were blurred. After becoming a Christian, I tried to completely overlook my reality, forcing myself to fix my eyes on how the Bible defines me. However, this led to spiritual farsightedness. The reality nearby is blurred, out of touch and distorted. ... Without my reality, God becomes impersonal, conceptual and abstract. Without the kingdom identity and a biblical foundation, there will be no way to redefine my reality.
Therefore, this piece, “Focus,” invites people to switch between the two elements:
• When I say, “I’m lost,” He tells me that “I’m found.”
• When I say, “I’m fatherless,” He says, “I’m a Father to the fatherless.”
• When I say, “I’m wounded,” He says that “I’m healed by His wounds.”
• When I say, “I’m broken,” He says that “I’m complete in Him.”
He is a Father to the fatherless, who has adopted us into His family as beloved childen.
I’m healed and eternally treasured. You can be too." (Wenjin W.)
