On this Archive Wednesday (coming a day late this week - apologies for that!), read about a man from Kurdistan who longs for his music to reach his people with the gospel. 

Before merging with OM Arts to be come Inspiro Arts Alliance, Heart Sounds International (HSI) had their own blog on which they shared trip reports, exciting stories, opportunities, and more. For the foreseeable future, we would like to share some of these archived articles with you. It is our hope that these "Archive Wednesdays" will encourage you as we look back on what the Lord has done! In today's article, read about how the Lord worked through different types of art during a trip to the Philippines! 

Our teammates in Kosovo, Aaron and Shpresa, hosted a songwriting workshop in December! They had participated in workshops like this with Heart Sounds International (HSI), but this was their first time to lead one of their own.

On Monday, we introduced you to Steven Chuchu from Tanzania and his new album, 'Omoghaka wa Nguru.' Today, we are featuring more about songs 3-5 on the album. Read below to find out about this beautiful new music! 

This week, we are thrilled to introduce to you Steven Chuchu, an amazingly talented musician and pastor in Tanzania. Steven has just released an album of traditional Tanzanian music called ‘Omoghaka wa Nguru,’ translating to ‘Mighty Elder’ or ‘Mighty Father God.’ We recently checked in with Steve and our staff member in Tanzania, Stephanie, to find out how things are going. Soriano Catulay, a wonderfully talented musician, has served as a project artist with Inspiro in the Philippines for a number of years. Recently, he wrote a song of his own, and he has since recorded it. In March, Operation Mobilization had their annual International Leaders Meeting (the ILM), and Soriano was able to use some of his original music to help lead a worship session. Read below about his song 'Dalaygon Ka Oh Diyos' ('Praise You, O God') and follow the link to listen! 

Among the unsung heroes in Inspiro Arts Alliance are the trained recording musicians God has sent the alliance to help capture the sounds of ethnic worship, often in obscure places where new songs have recently been birthed. When doing field recordings in non-western areas and facing unpredictable situations, these well-trained engineers learn various unexpected new techniques on the field.

Recently, our world has been reeling as we have been brought face to face with the stark reality of racism. The truth that many of our brothers and sisters around the world have had to deal with this reality their entire lives is sobering and hopefully prompts us to engage in meaningful conversations, take time to listen and seek to understand, and consider how the Lord might desire us to respond. We caught up with Whitney Peck, a musician serving the Lord in Albania, to ask her some questions about her story and experiences.
