The second week of Advent focuses our hearts on the peace that God provides. In John 14, Jesus promises to leave His peace with us, taking care to remind the disciples that it isn’t the kind of peace that the world gives. The peace we have in Christ transcends our circumstances. Through Jesus, our relationship with God is brought into peaceful reconciliation. We can live at peace knowing that we are secure in the Father.
In Austria, Alliance member Rachel Olney and the Kunst and Kultur (“Art and Culture”) team are putting on several evangelistic Christmas concerts. With a full orchestra and soloists, the concerts are focused on the theme of “the greatest gift.” There will be some songs performed by the orchestra and soloists, while the audience will be invited to join in on some well-known Christmas carols. In addition to the music, the team will be handing out Christmas tracts and New Testaments. Two concerts have been held (on December 8th and 9th), and one more is planned for December 16th. Watch the trailer here.
The hope and prayer of the team is that, through the music, the audience will hear of the peace and joy that can be found only in Christ. As you observe this week of Advent focused on peace, will you pray with us for the Christmas concerts? Pray that those who hear will come to know God’s peace that He freely offers through His Son.
