“It was the first time I realized that painting could capture the Word of God, speak into people’s lives and give me the opportunity to share my faith.”

BLOG

Every day all around the globe, artists on mission are creating, cultivating, and contributing in their communities. As they seek to see their art used in the work the Lord is doing, we want to share their stories to encourage and inspire.
This blog is a place to read those stories, giving you a glimpse into how the Lord is using the arts around the world.

Today, we are excited to share about the other recipient of our Inspiro Artist Grant, Rachel Olney! Rachel is a professional musician who works with OM Austria. She is excited to be using the grant to continue working on neust.ART evangelistic concerts in several cities and towns throughout Austria.

Neust.ART is a concert put on by Kunst and Kultur (“Art and Culture"), OM Austria’s arts team. It is a play on words, as the translation of “neu” is “new,” meaning you could read it “New Start.” In the neust.ART concert, Marion Traun with Band and Strings tells the greatest story ever told through a variety of musical genres including bossa nova, Viennese song, gospel, ballads, Latin, and film music. The concert is designed to be multigenerational and to engage both Jesus followers and those who have not yet followed Him. Several concerts have already been held, and more are planned for October of this year!

To see an example of what Rachel will be working on, check out this teaser trailer or this full-length live neust.ART concert that was held in Graz, Austria in January. Stay tuned for more reports about how the neust.ART project is going!
