Artists on Mission
Help spark beautiful worship and witness among the least reached.
Amy C., a visual artist from East Asia, excellently crafts exhibitions which dig into the personal and cultural struggles of people around her and gives them a voice to express their hopes, dreams and fears. Her exhibition, “Breathe. An Art Exhibition” allows people to process their fears and anxieties from the coronavirus.
‘The surgical mask has become our companion over time. It also became a complex symbol in our history and life. It absorbed all our groans and murmurs. It encapsulated our conversations, sweat, experiences, memories, feelings and emotions. There may be heartfelt voices pressing your heart that are speechless, wordless, or even forbidden to speak ...
The exhibition is trying to create a little space for visitors to participate in the artwork, put down their burden, and breathe well. Visitors are invited to unload their groans and murmurs in their hearts by painting in water on the clay mask and looking at it until it fades out’ (Amy C., “Breathe. An Art Exhibition”).
Whether it’s seeing new worship songs birthed in a tribal village in India, sharing a first Communion with Afghan refugees, or mentoring audio engineers in Uganda, your gift will further similar projects and empower artists like Amy to live out the love of Jesus in their calling as artists.
